Konakovo
Konakovo district is a large administrative, industrial, cultural area of Tver region. The administrative – territorial area of the district includes town Konakovo, 6 urban-type community and 13 village okrugs. Village okrugs unit 176 villages. Konakovo district is located in the south-east part of Tver region in 100 km. from Russian capital. The length of the district from the north to the south is 36 km., from the west to the east – 57 km. It is the next door to the main railway and high way lines (Moscow – St.Petersburg). It is on the water way (Volzhsky way). The area of Konakovo district is 2114 sq.m. The number of the population is 98.2 thousand people including the village population – 20.2 thousand people, the town population – 78 thousand people. There are 44.6 thousand people live in Konakovo town and in a industrial community of urban type there are 33.4 thousand people. The district has the second place in the region in the population size and industrial output; and it has the third place in agricultural out put.
Geographical location

Treatment and health-improving center “Karacharovo”
Treatment and health-improving center “Karacharovo” is situated in 75 km from Емук (the centre of Tver region) and in 120 km from Moscow on the right bank of the Volga river. Karacharovo is one of the interesting literature and historical place of Russia, it was founded in the 15 century. In 1485 year the Creat Moscow Duke Ivan 3 united Tverskoye Principality to Moscow Principality. In this campaign two brothers Ambrosse and Methodius Karachary, Russified Tatars, were distinguished themselves. And Ivan 3 gave to brothers lands of the banks of the river Volga for their feats of arms.
During 300 years the estate was belonged to the Karachars Family. From the middle of the 19 century to 1917 year it was belonged to the Prince G.G. Gagarin, the talented artist, friend of A.S. Pushkin and M.Yu. Lermontov.
The bank of the great Russian river Volga, magnificent nature of the centre lane of Russia predetermined the creation the picturesque resort place here. Monuments of the architecture
In the pine-forest (within the city) in the place of the junction of Donhovka and Volga on the bank the complex of architect Gotye built in the end of 19 century – the beginning of 20 century is situated. This mansion is a monument of the architecture.
In the old part of the town on the left bank of the river Donhovka there is an unusual building of the original architecture. It was built in the period of 1907-1912 years. In that time Tverskaya Faience – Pottery Factory became to construct new building. The engineer N.A. Poturayev designed and directed to the building. He presented in the village Kuznetsovo the construction firm “Trade House of brothers Poturayevy”. This firm constructed new buildings of Tverskaya Faience Pottery Factory “Kuznetsov Association’. The interesting gadget was used in the building construction.
The block work was made from the roasting free (grey concrete) brick, which was made from unused day remains of concrete mix, used in the construction of the factory buildings.
The division of construction of this building, especially for the electric – cinema “Cinematograph” was made with the object of more full using of concrete mix. Derived constructed brick from concrete mix with the gravel was used for the side block work. For facing block work they made special brick from the Portland cement mix and sifted river sand. Posting free brick is a predecessor of the modern silicate steam – cured brick.
The building architecture correspond the tendency characteristic for the period of withering of Russian modern. In is the electricity of forms, skew ness of building elements, using of different towers and arrow-headed superstructures over the dormer windows and in other building elements and with it using the original construction elements from ferroconcrete, among which the stairway enclosure between the storeys in the main tower, the overhead cover of semi-basement foyer under the auditorium and others.
Kuznetsovo cinema was rated at 350-400 places. The silent films were shown there accompanied with the music. Two local musicians played the piano and the violin there. There were one or two breaks in the session time. In summer at this time spectators went out to the street, listened to the music of the brass band, danced. The brass band came from the Korcheva. For the first time the first soviet color film “Grunya Konakovo” (“Solovey – solovushka”) was shown there.
